British Airways – Industrial Action by Cabin Crew

Since the proposed industrial action was intimated in mid-2009, Whistle Blowers Press Agency has received a succession of contributions from BA cabin crew. Strangely, from time to time, we at Whistle Blowers hear from disgruntled members of the management team and ground crew. Generally speaking, the comment from cabin crew relates to what they see as an oppressive regime that takes little account of passenger or staff welfare.

Whistle Blowers Press Agency is now aware both ground staff and cabin crew have been threatened with instant dismissal if they discuss the present proposal for strike action with a third party (this follows suspensions, which occurred after a BA trawl through “Face Book” entries).  Not only are cabin crew prevented from engaging in legitimate conversation with passengers, who are understandably concerned about the ramification of the dispute, they are forbidden from discussing the issues with fellow members of staff.

It is clear staff morale is at an all time low and if there is any truth in the draconian measures taken by BA to stifle genuine comment by staff, their practices need to be exposed – freedom of speech is a basic human right that should not be suppressed and personal opinion should not be subjugated.

If you are member of BA cabin crew, Whistle Blowers Press Agency would like to hear your comments, good or bad.  BA will not be able to take issue with you!  We would also like you to tell your colleagues about this “jigsaw” entry - the more people who come forward, the clearer the picture will become. It is impossible for BA to determine who has contacted us!
