The Fire and Rescue Service – complaints about the Tropkrok kit drier.

A member of the Essex Fire & Rescue Service has contacted us with alarming allegations in respect of the supply of Tropkrok kit drying units being installed in all fire stations within Essex.  Not all allegations feature in this entry.

According to the informant, the Tropkrok driers are used to dry out the protective clothing used by fire service personnel, when they have returned from an emergency.  According to the whistle blower, the machines cost around £5,000 and are being systematically installed following a refurbishment programme.  It is alleged the driers are no more than an inefficient, noisy, glorified cold air fan that the fire and rescue personnel refuse to use.

The whistle blower alleges there is an unhealthy relationship between a member of staff, who is also associated with the importers of the machines.

If you are employed by the fire and rescue service and can provide a detailed account of the efficacy of the driers, or know anything about relationship between the importers and staff member, we would like to hear from you.

Alternatively, you could contact, www.firemanblogs.co.uk – we are associated with the website, who will forward your correspondence to us.
