Construction Trainers With No Practical Experience?

Whistle Blowers received an email recently from an informant who claims that a well known construction training provider is employing ‘trainers’ who have never been on a building site or have only been there in a limited capacity. Needless to say, an instructor in the trades should have considerable practical experience before teaching others and then signing off on a qualification. Our contact is concerned about workplace safety and the potential for someone to be killed as a result of inadequate training.

This is something that needs to be explored more in-depth and we would like to gather more information. Do you work in the trades on construction sites? Do you have information regarding training guidelines? We, at Whistle Blowers, would like to hear your input on this matter.
