How the recession is increasing the workload of the Paramedics

At “Whistle Blowers” we receive frequent reports from paramedics based throughout the UK and are currently investigating a number of issues, not least of which relates to staffing levels.

Paramedics services are reaching breaking point, not necessarily due to staffing problems or as one paramedic put it, “wonky policies, introduced by policy wonks” but due to the near constant demand for their services.

In the last seven days we have received at least fourteen calls and emails from paramedics, nearly all of whom have expressed concern in respect of suicides, overdoses, alcohol related incidents and assaults, all brought about by the economic downturn.

We are alarmed by the information we have received - if you are a paramedic, a technician or ECA, and have concerns about the level of service you are providing, we want to hear from you; please contact us..
