British Forces serving in Afghanistan
We have spoken to the correspondent, who has provided us with information about recent deaths involving the use of “snatch” land rovers, the lack of facilities and other serious issues, involving armament, supplies (including drinking water) and directives. Most importantly, he has alleged misrepresentation by the MOD.
We have learned of the MOD’s cavalier attitude to bereaved families and relatives. In addition we have been told of miserly grants being paid for funeral expenses and widows being threatened with arbitrarily eviction from MOD housing.
If you are a serving member of the armed forces, a spouse, a relative, friend/colleague, or have an issue that needs raising/investigating, we are desperate to help you, particularly if you can add to what we have been told.
Comment: We, at Whistle Blowers Press Agency, were deeply moved by the correspondence sent to us and have agreed to give priority to any Afghanistan issues that come to light – “sustaining the truth and championing the individual” is our “raison d’être”.
